Daniel Brunet

Daniel Brunet is founder and president of DJB Mining Products & Services Ltd, and sister company DJB Equipement Miniers.

As president, Brunet is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations. His responsibilities include developing the company’s growth and productivity, overseeing national and international affairs, forming new business and industrial partnerships, and enhancing DJB’s presence and support within the community.

As a Cochrane native, he started out in the forestry industry at the age of 16 before transitioning into mining during a downturn. Starting out at a young age enabled him to experience a wide variety of opportunities, shaping the business man that he is today. This influenced him to keep suppliers and employment locally to support the economical development and give back to his Northern Community.

Prior to starting his own business in 2010, Brunet served as Supervisory Leadhand/Shop Foreman in multiple manufacturing and fabrication shops in Northern Ontario. These roles provided him with the knowledge and experience required to finesse his skills in the trade of welding and align boring.

After receiving extremely positive feed back on DJB’s signature buckets, DJB found that there was a need for underground mining tractors with his clients. The team at DJB came together to supply a new and improved John Deere tractor specifically designed for the pressures and rugged work conditions of the underground mining industry.

His diverse career, over the last 18 years, has made DJB a leading competitor in the Canadian industry, with substantial growth and sales. Recently DJB has been acknowledged for awards such as, Business of the Year in 2017 and Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018.
